DVB Multiplex Center Design and Installation
All system solutions of Dimetis in the DVB market are based on our own product family BOSS BROADCAST Manager® .
BOSS BROADCAST Manager® is used in:
- DVB/ATSC Multiplex Centers (terrestrial, satellite, cable, IPTV)
- Broadcast Networks (contribution and distribution)
- Regional sites (e.g. transmitter sites)
Dimetis offers an extensive Broadcast OSS solution which can be further customized to any specific requirements of DVB/ATSC operators.
BOSS BROADCAST Manager® features special, services-oriented functions, which permit a very efficient operation of any broadcast networks. It was designed with the operative needs of the Broadcasters in mind. All functions were developed based on multiple inputs from customers.

BOSS BROADCAST Manager®
BOSS BROADCAST Manager® supports the configuration, control and monitoring of all devices and services within the Multiplex Center. It manages devices and element managers from different manufacturers. All network components are controlled and monitored over SNMP.
BOSS BROADCAST Manager® collects all alarms. The central Alarm Management performs an error correlation and displays the error in the graphical overview. Additional the user gets system messages with information concerning the error.
OpenBroadcast collects all alarms. The central Alarm Management performs an error correlation and displays the error in the graphical overview. Additionally the user gets system messages with information concerning the error.
The whole network is displayed in a unique graphical user interface (GUI).
BOSS BROADCAST Manager® provides the following functions:
- Configuration of all devices (encoder, decoder, multiplex, routers/switches)
- Configuration of the signal pathes (connection between the devices)
- Integration of complex sub systems (e.g. StatMux control)
- Multiplex generation
(from simple static multiplex to dynamic time and event controlled multiplex)
- Regionalization of multiplex
Implementation of complex switching and modification processes which are necessary for the regionalization of programs. The regionalization can be planned conveniently by the user with the "Event Editor". The "dynamic PMT" is supported as well as the conversion of service information data (SI data e.g. EPG).

BOSS Netview®
BOSS Netview® performs the umbrella monitoring function for:
- the broadcast network (i.e. feed networks to the transmitters)
- the regional or remote locations(e.g. transmitter locations for the legacy FM/TV, DAB, DMB, DVB-T, DVB-S)
- all devices in the centralized multiplex or playout center
BOSS Netview® is designed so that equipment from different manufacturers can be integrated. New devices can be added online at any time.
Furthermore, BOSS Netview® can – through the automatic recognition of signal losses or faults alarms coming from a device – perform automatic backup switching.
A clear and intuitive graphical user interface [GUI] enables an easy-to-use monitoring.
BOSS Netview® performs itself the monitoring function for all directly reachable devices/element managers (connected to local LAN of high-capacity WAN links).
For remote/regional locations, the local controller BOSS Netview® 1000 is used; it performs the on-site monitoring tasks.
The data from the distributed transmitter locations and other remote sites are transmitted to the server in the network management center (e.g. via leased lines, VPN or ISDN). All the information is collected and stored in the centralized database.
BOSS Netview® provides the following functions:
- Recording the faults and status messages from all devices and the BOSS Netview® 1000 from the regional locations
- Visualization on the GUI of the top-level status of the entire system
- System messages to the users (monitor, SMS, e-mail, fax)
- Remote control of all equipments (e.g. transmitters) with the help of BOSS Netview® 1000
